Hurstbourne Priors no longer has a school of its own, the former School House now being a private dwelling, but primary education is available in the nearby village of Longparish, approximately 2 miles away.

The school has a target roll of about 100 children and, whilst it primarily serves the villages of Longparish and Hurstbourne Priors, applications from families in the surrounding area are welcomed. There are four teaching groups with an annual intake of up to 15 into the reception class. There are sometimes vacancies in the older classes when families move out of the area.

The school has high educational standards and enjoys excellent accommodation in attractive grounds by the river Test, close to the church. To view the latest Ofsted report visit www.ofsted.gov.uk/.

The school is keen to maintain strong links with the community, and welcomes those who are willing to share their experience and expertise with the children. Each month, in term time, senior citizens are invited to have lunch at school for a very modest charge, and the resulting friendships between young & old are much valued.
